Room was nice, view fantastic and staff very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I just returned from a short vacation (5 days) in Gloucester/Rockport, Mass. We stayed at the Vista for all of those days.

First, I must say that when we phoned to make reservations, we spoke to Yvonne at the desk. She was so pleasant and helpful that we decided to stay all five days there, rather than split our time at two locations. We were glad we did.

The Vista is perfectly located if you want to see Cape Ann. It is centrally located in Gloucester, between Rockport, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Essex. It is also within just a few minutes from many beautiful places to walk, among them Halibut Point State Park, and Long Beach.

There is good parking right near your room. The rooms are spacious and pleasant. The bathroom was fine, the individual balcony a great place to relax, perhaps have breakfast, or just watch the scenery. It was very quiet – good for sleeping.

The breakfasts were good. You can place an order for a small variety of items, including two breads, juices, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, and of course, coffee or tea. You can eat what you’ve selected in an open-air (tented) area, or bring it back to your room to have on your balcony.

We found the Vista everything we could have asked for – especially at its very competitive rate.

We expect to return next year, and can recommend it highly.

I stayed in one of the “basic” rooms since I was meeting up with a number of old girlfriends and figured I would just need the room for sleeping. We’ll the room more than exceeded my expectations! The large window facing the water had a breathtaking view. The room was spacious, spotless and had a wonderful patio with two chairs which provided a perfect spot to sit and read or sip a beverage. I will definitely recommend the Vista and hope to get back there soon.

We stayed in a king room with a kitchenette for 3 nights, and it was very relaxing and enjoyable. Everyone who works there are very friendly and go out of their way to please the guests. The front desk was very helpful in recommending restaurants in the area. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and having a relaxing breakfast overlooking the ocean. The pool area was clean and the pool was comfortable for September. We enjoyed being able to open the slider and get fresh air.

Rockport is right down the road, and the center of town is not far, so the location is convenient. We would definitely visit again!

We will always stay at Vista when we are in town, now that we’ve discovered it. Wonderful setting, friendly staff and guests!
