This is a sad post. On St. Patrick’s day last week, we had to say goodbye to our old friend Eddy. We weren’t sure how old Eddy really was but I am guessing he was going on sixteen. In the end, his kidneys were failing and our vet helped us with this very tough decision.

This is a tribute to not just to my best friend, Eddy, but to all who enveloped me with hugs and sympathy, and love. Just incredible and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I want to thank Dr. Ray Cahill and his staff at Seaport Veterinary Hospital who showed compassion, respect, and empathy in such a way you felt like you were among family.

I just wanted to say that your words and your actions meant so much to me during this difficult time and I will always remember to pay it forward. So remember what Maya Angelou said: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” I feel cared for, my sorrow eased because it was shared, and blessed to know so many wonderful, pet-loving humans. I promise to spread the love and always reach out to those who need a kind word or deed. Thank you for helping me to remember this. And thank you Eddy for showing me what unconditional love is.
